The borehole packer is a hydraulically clamped packer system.
It is used exclusively in conjunction with suitable feeding pipes for sealing injection boreholes during and after the injection process with synthetic resins. On the BVS 40 SM, for example, two static mixers are integrated into the inner pipe for mixing the synthetic esins.
The BVS remains in the borehole after the injection process and cannot be re-used.

The borehole packers are identified by their type designations:
Type designations Meaning
1 BVS Bohrlochverschluss (borehole packer)
2 Numerical value Ø, approximate outer diameter of the BVS in mm
3.
S Steel pipe
M Mixing element(s)
K K = plastic pipe ("Kunststoffrohr")

On the resin outlet side the BVS can be fitted with extension pipes in order to position the resin outlet at the deepest point of the borehole.
Typical areas of application:
Injection in breaking areas, e.g. construction site
Coal face stabilisation
Water sealing
Gas sealing
General stabilisation work which requires a bolting function
Function.
When starting the injection process the injection material flows through the mixes in the inner pipe and to the bursting disk.
The pressure increase in the inner pipe causes the lip valve toopen and the injection material flows into the inflation hose.
The inflation hose expands, is applied to the walls of the boreholeand clamps the BVS in the borehole.
When the pressure reaches around 40-60 bar, the burstingdisk bursts, the lip valve closes and the injection material flows into the borehole.
The components of the synthetic resin are mixed thoroughlywith each other in the static mixer which is integrated into theinner pipe.
The BVS is permanently clamped in accordance with the injection pressure achieved and remains in the rock after the injection process.
Operation
Make sure the borehole diameter for the BVS is correct as per Technical data' .
The feed pipe/injection lance is screwed onto the BVS over the full thread length and creates a firm and leak-tight connection.
The borehole must be stable within the clamping area of thepacker. You must avoid only applying the BVS to the borehole wall in isolated, individual positions.
Make sure the installation depth for the BVS is correct as per'Technical data' .
The mixing valve and injection hoses must be fastened so thatthe feed pipe cannot be kinked. The inner pipe on the BVS must not be subjected to mechanical strain.
The BVS and the feed pipe must form an axis with the borehole.
At the beginning of the injection process the shut-off valves on the mixing valve must be opened slowly in order to inflate the
BVS in a metered manner ("do not blast with high pressure ...").
BVS remains in the borehole after the injection process
