Terence Crawford's magnificent victory over Errol Spence has proved to be a financial success.

The long-awaited super fight delivered in the ring with Crawford producing a brilliant performance.

And it appears to have also delivered from a business perspective.

According to American journalist Dan Rafael, the fight did at least 650,000 USA PPV buys.

Priced at $85 on Showtime, this means it generated upwards of $55million in revenue from PPV money alone.

It's also been reported that the gate revenue (money from ticket sales) for the fight in Las Vegas surpassed $21million.

When all is said and done, Spence and Crawford will reportedly each earn purses upwards of $25million.

Boxing supporters reacted positively to this news, indicating the success of an event which showcased the best fighting the best.

One fan reacted: "Pleased that it pulled in solid numbers. It deserved it."

While a second wrote: "They both deserve it."

A third fan said: "Well deserved for fighting each other, elite v elite."

And a fourth put: "Glad the fight did good numbers without Errol this fight wouldn’t have happened."

Another fan reacted: "Great numbers, they deserve it and banger of a fight. And that was the same night as UFC 291 so they potentially could have done more."
